Hustonville Funeral Home

The Hustonville Funeral Home was established in 1921 by Licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director Thurman Wallace Boil. Mr. Boil operated the Funeral Home until 1934 when he was charged by local authorities with being a necrophiliac.

He commented suicide prior to his trial date. The family claimed he was innocent of all charges, yet the family’s reputation was tainted and never recovered. The Hustonville Funeral Home went out of business in 1958. Many local residents felt violated by Mr. Boil’s treatment of their loved ones and always believed their loved ones sprit remained inside.

Out of respect for the families the upstairs where most of the assaults took place has been sealed off from public viewing.

Hustonville Funeral Home’s motto was   “Look Alive”
